Virginia Blood Services is rewarding donors who give blood every time they are eligible. Whether it’s giving platelets every 2-weeks, whole blood every 56-days, or double reds every 112-days—your good deeds have not gone unnoticed.
There are three options:
1) When you have enough points for your desired item(s), you can redeem them at any time from the Virginia Blood Services catalog.

2) Get recognized as a Friend 4 Life when you make four donations within the year, platelets or whole blood. Remember, one double red counts as two donations!
3) Platelet All-Star items are rewarded to donors who give platelets six or more times within a year.

Points for Donations
| Red Cells |
- 50 points for a Whole Blood donation
- 150 points for an Automated Red Cell donation
- 10 Bonus points for keeping your appointment
- 25 point bonus if you return to make a whole blood or automated red cell donation within 180 days of your last whole blood or automated red cell donation.
