I am a 20 year old mother. The first time I donated blood was in high school. I wanted to donate get out of class the first time, but I learned that my blood type was severely needed and decided to keep on donating. After my son was born, he was diagnosed with sepsis and I was told I was going to need a blood transfusion. This is when I realized how important donating blood truly is.
