VBS Rewards

It is a loyalty program to reward you for committing to give blood several times during the year.
It resembles an online catalog that you can access to track points for your blood donations and redeem for gifts.
After each donation, you will earn VBS Rewards points, which you can use to redeem for gifts in the online catalog or give back to selected charitable organizations.
This program is replacing the former Friends 4 Life and Platelet All-Stars Programs.

Why is VBS replacing the current program for Friends 4 Life and Platelet All-Stars?

To encourage you to give more often and reward you for keeping appointments, coming during key times of need, or giving a special product that is needed like platelets or double reds.

If I am already a Friends 4 Life or Platelet All-Star donor, do I get extra points at the program launch?

No. Just like the programs have always worked, at the beginning of each calendar year, your donations start at zero and you work your way toward 4+ donations in that year. To be fair, everyone will still begin the year at zero.
As an added bonus, your points will however roll over into the next year if you are saving for a higher tiered item.

What are the gift tier levels?

There are three gift tier levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
As you return for more donations, give during key times of need, and keep your appointments, you will earn more and more points that will “unlock” the next tier level of gifts. You can choose how and when to redeem your gifts based on the amount of points you earn.

What gift items are available?

There are three gifts to choose from in each tier, including duffle bags, fleece jackets, umbrellas, and more. High-end T-shirts will still be available.
All gifts will have the Friends 4 Life or Platelet All-Stars logo imprinted on them.

How can I participate in the program and begin redeeming points?

You must visit the website http://www.vbsrewards.com/ to register for the program. From there, you will see your point balance and the gifts available.
Printed materials will be sent to you in January describing the program and providing log-in instructions.

How does the point system work?

Your points will be automatically tracked from your first donation of the year.
You earn points EACH TIME you donate whole blood or platelets.
There will be a minimum number of points to redeem gifts.
To keep earned points, a donation must be made every 180 days (about 6 months), or 50 points will be forfeited.
After 18 months of no donations, you will forfeit all remaining reward points.
These requirements will be waived for anyone who is temporarily or permanently deferred.
The final points system will be announced in January and explained in the printed materials.
